White Bear Lake Area School District will be hosting Welcome Week at all it's elementary schools throughout the district from January 6-10, 2020.  This gives parents who will be starting their children in kindergarten in the Fall an opportunity to tour their neighborhood elementary school as well as Matoska IB World School.  Matoska is an open school to everyone who lives in the school district boundaries and provides busing to all as well that live in the district.  Matoska's classrooms usually fill up quickly so it's best to tour during welcome week then make your decision and register online right away.  Tours at Matoska are below.  Paper enrollment packets can be picked up at any of the elementary school offices or the district registration office.   Parents who live in the school district should receive a mailing this month with details for next school year.

Monday, January 6:  10:00 am - 11:00 am

Tuesday, January 7:  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Wednesday, January 8: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

 

Fall Kindergarten Registration Opens January 1, 2020

Kindergarten registration opens January 1 for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.  

Kindergarten enrollment process is as follows for Matoska Int'l:

1st priority - siblings to families already attending Matoska

2nd priority - families within the WBL School District

3rd priority - families living outside of the school district boundaries (open enrolled)  

Open enrolled students will go on a wait list and be enrolled on a first come first serve basis starting in April.  Call the Districts registration office at 651-407-7674 to go on the wait list.

Some changes in the registration systems will impact how families and community members pay for meals, fees, and activities (through FeePay) and/or register for Community Education programs (through Eleyo).

Voters in the White Bear Lake Area School District approved a $326 million building bond request to address building needs across the district by a margin of 57.4% yes to 42.6% no (unofficial results: 8,536 yes votes, 6,336 no votes).

Community organizations have formally endorsed the bond referendum, including the White Bear Lake Economic Development Corporation, Hugo City Council, Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation and White Bear Area Chamber of Commerce.

Families have the ability to opt in to text message notifications that will be shared (to those who opt in) when school and district messages are sent regarding emergency closings, attendance and nutrition services notices, general upcoming events, and other important announcements from the district or school.
